Account of shooting day

On the 21st of January we had our thriller shoot, when our group met at the start of the day we had a discussion and decided to alter our idea to make it about a blogger who gets stalked but blogs about her experiences before her death on videos. We did this because it would give us more footage time and therefore we would be able to use different techniques to film and make it a more interesting intro to watch and so we stayed with the theme of internet stalking but changed it slightly. Once we had altered our plan slightly we had to pick a location to do the first shoot at we decided to film in one of the girls boarding rooms because we thought that we would be able to get a very girly and innocent which would contrast with the dark plot of the film well. We started filming with the shots of her blogging and just told the actress to improvise but we gave her guidelines of what to talk about and told her if there was anything important to mention. We also tried to film her without her knowing it so it looked more natural. For the lighting effect in the first scene we managed to get some blue neon lighting to shine on the actresses face to create a similar effect to that of a computer screen would on her face. The diagetic sound was very limited only usually her voice and the door shutting occasionally.
Once we had finished up at that location we moved to our next location this was where we would film the killer but of course it would not be filmed in the same style as the victim firstly it was not done as a video blog and secondly we had to film in a more sinister method doing things like not showing the killers face to make him seem more mysterious and for the lighting we had a much darker room with one light positioned to try to make the killer seem like more of a shadowy figure. We also sprayed the actor for the killer with water to create a sweat on his face to make him seem even creepier.

Thriller Ideas

The average age of people who visit cinemas is 15-25 so who better to target a film at then this age group. Angel dust is a film about a social networking site stalker who catches his victims and then injects them with a drug called PCP that makes them go psychotic and kill themselves he videos this and posts it on face book. As the film is centralised over social networking sites it is also much related to the audience and their age group because sites like face book and my space are a big craze at the moment as it is relevant it will be even more powerful because the audience can relate to it. I think a production company like twisted pictures could produce this film as a small budget Hollywood film.
